The successful candidates will be part of the team working on the ERC-funded project 18ETHICS – Ethics and Moral Life in the Eighteenth Century, led by Stefano Bacin.

The 18ETHICS project (https://18ethics.unimi.it/) investigates eighteenth-century ethics putting in the foreground its fundamental aim to provide guidance about moral issues. The project concentrates mainly on the comprehensive doctrine of duties presented between Pufendorf and the early nineteenth century, with a special focus on systematic treatments of ethical demands by British, German and (to a smaller extent) French moral philosophers. 

We are looking for candidates with competences on eighteenth-century ethics in Britain and Germany, who can work on different views on moral demands and different methodological perspectives on ethics in the philosophical discussion in those areas.

Gross salary: Euro 39.000 ca per year.  

Approximate starting date: 1 October 2026.

 
Fluency in Italian language is not required.
